Question
I have a question about how do I make someone bankrupt. They owe me in excess of £5,000, and I know they have a few properties. I did some work for them and they refuse to pay me as they say the work was not up to the standard they wanted. I need my money and want to make them bankrupt.
Thank you,
Ste
Answer
Ste,
If someone owes you £5,000 or more, you can make them bankrupt, however, there may be other and cheaper options. If you make someone bankrupt, you pay the fees involved with the filing.
Have you sought out legal advice and perhaps consider mediation?
Granted making someone bankrupt gets their attention, but you also have to go through the process, and they may very well defend themselves, and they may not be insolvent.
I would need more details and information to advise properly.

Jon
